In a restorative yoga practice we surrender the daily mind chatter and arrive in a state of being. Through integrating our physical body, breath, mind, and energetic field we access a state of potency. The parasympathetic nervous system is stimulated, hormonal balance is regulated, and we are able to rest and digest life. Through lecture, group discussion, and practicum you will learn how to guide yourself and others into a deeper state of being.
In this 25 hour Level one training you will learn:
-How to intentionally sequence a class/series
-Back bends, twists, and inversions
-How to effectively use props (bolsters, blankets, straps)
-How to support a student with minimal props
-The neurology and biology of restorative states
-Basic anatomy of the parasympathetic nervous system and trauma
-The creative art of using props
-Science, anatomy, and biology of hormonal system, nervous system Relaxation Response Theory, Pranayama (breath)
